Dona Gimignano has lived under the shadow of a very large pizza
her entire life. Stella Pizza—It’s Out Of This World—is the
family business and her father runs
it as if he’s a mob boss. The nickname The Pizza Princess was given
her when she was nine and it made her feel gangly, unloved and
unlovable. So she did the only thing she could think of--Dona went
to school and stayed there to keep the pizza pies and melting
mozzarella far away.
The one time Dona was in love, it was with a
journalist and all Costello wanted was the story of her life.
Finding it impossible to stay in
school forever, Dona returns to New York City and becomes a
dockworker. Tough and beautiful, no one is brave enough to
flirt with her. When Dona’s father
dies and bequeaths the family to her, she wants out.
Her former love
has a nose itching for news and wants the story. And there’s an
illicit shipment of Parmigiana Reggiano sitting in New York Harbor
waiting for her along with the District Attorney trying to arrest
everyone. She has to save the family business.
But can she trust Costello, who is as endearing as ever and just as
dangerous. He asks her to come back to him, but can she trust him? |
